Baked Protein Donuts

Protein-packed, low-calorie, fluffy donuts to please your sweet tooth and keep you fit.

Ingredients

Double Chocolate

Donuts

  • 1 scoop (30 g) chocolate protein powder

  • 1 tbsp (5 g) cacao powder

  • 1/4 cup (30 g) whole wheat flour

  • 3 tbsp (30 g) coconut sugar

  • 3/4 tsp (3 g) baking powder

  • pinch of salt

  • 1 egg

  • ~3 tbsp (40 g) egg whites

  • 2/3 cup (170 g) low-fat Greek yogurt

  • 1/4 cup (60 g) unsweetened apple sauce

Chocolate Glaze

  • 20 g double chocolate protein powder

  • 5 tbsp soy milk*

Notes

* Varies depending on the type of protein powder. Start with a couple of tablespoons of milk and keep adding until you reach the desired glaze-like consistency.

Pumpkin Spice

Donuts

  • 1 scoop (35 g) vanilla protein powder

  • 1/4 cup (30 g) whole wheat flour

  • 3 tbsp (30 g) coconut sugar

  • 3/4 tsp (3 g) baking powder

  • Dash of cinnamon

  • Pinch of salt

  • 1 egg

  • ~3 tbsp (40 g) egg whites

  • 2/3 cup (170 g) low-fat Greek yogurt

  • 1/4 cup (60 g) pumpkin puree

  • 2 tbsp soy milk*

Vanilla Glaze

  • 20 g vanilla protein

  • 5 tbsp soy milk*

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 356°F (180°C)

  2. Sift dry ingredients into a bowl and whisk to combine.

  3. Add wet ingredients and combine to form a batter.

  4. Grab the donut mold, coat it with non-stick spray, and pour your mix in.

  5. Bake for 15 minutes.

  6. Remove from oven and allow to cool for a few minutes.

  7. Meanwhile, make a glaze by combining milk and protein powder.

  8. Add glaze to cooled donuts, and enjoy!
